I am so happy to share that I am now a certified "Fast Like A Girl" coach! If you have been following my blog, I mentioned this back at the end of April. I've been plugging away at the learning modules and am done. It's very exciting for me because I am a believer in the fasting lifestyle for some people. Fasting is not for everyone, although I believe we all could use some sort of Intermittent Fasting, even 10-12 hours to allow our bodies to rest and heal from pumping out insulin and digesting all day/night long.
This certification course was offered by Dr. Mindy Pelz who wrote the book "Fast Like A Girl". She has a large following in the functional health community. She has a podcast called "The Resetter Podcast", social media pages and more. She is a warrier for womens' hormonal health. I was drawn to her when I finally figured out that Intermittent Fasting was what my body needed to heal.
This certification focuses on women's hormones using different length fasting cycles as a way to manage homonal shifts. This includes women in all stages - cycling, perimenopause and post-menopause. Many symptoms women feel throughout each stage are mostly not normal, but yet our medical system tells us they are. PMS - cramping, heavy periods, extreme fatique, mood swings, hot flashes, brain fog and so much more - these are NOT normal, but they are so very common! PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility?
